Gay nightlife in Gran Canaria is centred around the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Ingles. A family shopping centre by day that become a gay mecca at night, with dozens of gay bars, dance clubs and cruising clubs to choose from. You can also find a number of drag and cabaret bars, which are a great way to start the evening, as is typical in Spain, bars tend to get busier later on in the evening, with clubs not opening until the early hours. There are other gay venues around town, with some in the Cita Centre, and others down on the beach.
Oak Lawn is the best place in Dallas to hang out with a mixed crowd of LGBTQ+ people. There are plenty of nightlife options in this gaybourhood, including the largest lesbian bar in the country right next door to a host of other bars and clubs that all have different atmospheres and themes. Everything you need for the perfect night out is located in this queer hub, but if you want to venture out and explore the rest of the city, you'll find queer friendly venues there as well.
Portland has a multitude of gay venues for you to explore, all offering something a little bit different. The city has a prominent feminist and lesbian scene, which is focussed on the Hawthorne District with its trendy bars and coffee shops. Meanwhile the Burnside Triangle has always been a hangout spot for local queer people of all identities and is the home of LGBTQ+ nightlife that caters to everyone. As you explore the city you can catch a drag show, grab a craft cocktail, or simply dance the night away in one of the many clubs.
San Francisco’s gay nightlife scene has come a long way from the first dark and secretive club that opened in 1908. This was the start of a boom in queer culture, which is now centred on the Castro neighbourhood and its varied venues. You can find dozens of nightlife spots packed together in Castro, newer clubs and festivals in SoMa, a huge leather scene, and an iconic drag club owned by the best-known queen in the city. For a loud and camp night out or a more relaxed hangout, you can find your place in San Francisco.
The range of gay nightlife in Toronto is wonderfully eclectic, drawing people from across the spectrum of ages, genders, and orientations. The majority of nightlife venues can be found at the intersection of Church Street and Wellesley street where the atmosphere is buzzing and the bars and clubs host something for everyone every night of the week. Most of the venues here are also super popular destinations for drag shows, so head here for a classically camp night out. London has a huge variety of gay and gay friendly bars and clubs that cater to a whole range of identities. However, if you don't want to choose a night out based on your identity, then you can explore based on the vibe of different areas and the crowds they attract. The infamous Soho is known for its restaurants and London's most popular gay bars, while Vauxhall is known for its parties and the East End attracts a more hipster crowd. Head to Oxford Street and Darlinghurst and you’ll find most of Sydney’s gay and gay-friendly nightlife. The gay scene in Sydney truly has something for everyone. There are three exclusively gay bars in Auckland but all the other places in the city are gay-friendly. There's no separation of communities here. As you explore the city, you'll also find more upscale areas such as Viaduct and Britomart. Across Auckland you can expect loud music, camp drag and comedy, and strong drinks. You’ll find most of Seattle’s gay nightlife in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood, where most of the community gather. Most places are open until 2am so you can lose yourself in the atmosphere and dance the night away in some of the best gay clubs in the area. The gay life in Cologne is centred around two main areas of the city, Rudolfplatz and Heumarkt (or the Old Town.) Heumarkt has had gay venues for many years, and as such attracts a somewhat older crowd than in the area around Rudolfplatz. Birmingham's Hurst Street is the centre of its Gay Village. This hub for all things queer has been expanding since the decriminalisation, and it's now home to the majority of the city's gay scene. Against a backdrop of sparkly gay street art, this area offers plenty of gay bars and clubs. Different venues are popular with different age groups, styles, and tastes from cocktail bars to cabaret. Even outside of the Gay Village, there's a whole host of LGBTQ friendly places and iconic clubs, so you're bound to find a place you love.
Copenhagen gay nightlife is focussed on bars rather than clubs, but with various places to choose from, and many located on the streets around the Rådhuspladsen (Town Hall Square), especially Studiestræde, it's easy to find somewhere you like. There are also gay friendly options in the developing Meat Packing district, near the Central Station.
There are plenty of places for a drink here in Vancouver at any time of the day, particularly in the queer areas. The main gay scene on Davie Street may be small but its packed full of energy and has a thriving nightlife. There’s always a party and a dance floor waiting for you every night of the week. Round-up is a large country and western dance club with a total of twelve fully stocked bars and plenty of hot cowboys, so even if you don't love country music you can still enjoy yourself! The space doubles as a dance hall that hosts lessons in line-dancing, plus charity events and themed nights. Hombres has a more Manhattan vibe than the other gay bars in Jackson Heights. It's the destination of choice for locals and visitors from further afield, who are drawn in by the scantily clad yet down to earth men, although the crowd is still somewhat mixed. If you like karaoke and a good old dance party with some very attractive men then this is the place for you!

Boatslip is a world-renowned destination for LGBTQ+ travellers. This legendary hotel on the beachfront in the heart of the gay scene is home to the iconic Tea Dance, a lively afternoon dance party that's known across the world - daily 16:00-19:00 in high season. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, you can head to the bar and sundeck. The hotel itself features a heated pool and a spacious sundeck with deck chairs where you can sit back, enjoy the music, and sample delicious grilled food and fresh salads. The meeting place of the gay scene in Prenzlauer Berg. The Bear Cave is a small cozy bar where "man meets man" and usually bears are cozy creatures. Everyone feels comfortable here, no matter if bear, bear lover or non-bear, no matter if old or young, no matter if fat or thin. With us in the foreground is who you are and not what you have or how you look and so everyone comes quickly into conversation with the other guests.Just as mixed as our guests is the music that we play in the Bear Cave - whether oldies, German hits or international hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s up to the hits of today. There is something for everyone. And of course you can also dance and sing (karaoke available)
Step Madrid
Madrid
Step Madrid (formerly known as The Paso) is an institution on the Chueca gay scene, having been catering to the bear community for years. It's busy all week but particularly at weekends, when a fun and friendly crowd flocks to the bar and music videos are playing on large screens. There's no attitude here so everyone can feel comfortable, including in the small dark room in the back of the bar.
Zum Schwejk
Frankfurt
Zum Schwejk is the oldest still existing gay bar in Frankfurt. Mixed ages, lively and sociable atmosphere, hit music, especially German schlager music. Popular and usually very crowded on weekends. In the summer time there is also outdoor seating available.
The Polo Lounge
Sydney
Polo Lounge is a modern and stylish space in the super gay Oxford Hotel. Nestled right at the top of the building, this two-level bar serves delicious cocktails in a unique setting. Intimate and elegant, Polo Lounge has beautiful views over the city from its private balcony, plus a cosy fireplace and high-end decor. It's the perfect place for private functions, taking advantage of the inclusive service of this hotel, an institution on the gay scene.
Little Ku
London
Little Ku is the smaller and naughtier sibling of Ku on Lisle Street. It's a great pre-club destination offering friendly service with a selection of cocktails, with the party spread across two intimate and stylishly decorated floors. Little Ku is frequented by a mostly male crowd with a casual but slightly cruisy vibe, but absolutely everyone is welcome. Attractive and friendly bar staff plus great music make this the perfect start to your night out.
