You can start your night earlier than at the other clubs and party with a younger crowd, especially at weekends.

Step Madrid
Step Madrid (formerly known as The Paso) is an institution on the Chueca gay scene, having been catering to the bear community for years. It's busy all week but particularly at weekends, when a fun and friendly crowd flocks to the bar and music videos are playing on large screens. There's no attitude here so everyone can feel comfortable, including in the small dark room in the back of the bar.
Barbanarama
Relatively new to the gay scene in the lively Chueca neighbourhood, Barbanarama is already popular thanks to cheap but quality cocktails and friendly atmosphere. The latest hits play loudly throughout the night to entertain a diverse mix of people. Everyone is welcome but the bar is especially popular with bearded local guys, giving you a true taste of Madrid's nightlife and its lively clientele.
Zarpa
Zarpa is mostly popular with bears and their admirers, especially slightly older guys looking to enjoy a few drinks before moving on to Chueca's clubs. The bar is busy every weekend thanks to reliably cheap pints and popular music across all genres. Music videos play around the bar, keeping the atmosphere alive and drawing in the crowds of masculine guys.

Hidden away below street level, Why Not is a popular destination for people looking for a few drinks before a night out. An atmospheric interior complete with wood panelled walls houses a bar serving quality cocktails, and the space is generally packed with a mixed crowd. Unique and striking decor make this a memorable and popular bar, and the music is a mix of Spanish and international songs from pop to disco.
Disco Rick's
RICK'S is a popular pre-clubbing bar with a Moroccan vibe inspired by the film Casablanca. The walls are filled with quirky themed decoration, the elsewhere in the bar you'll find pool and foosball tables. A mixed aged crowd generally descends on the bar in the early hours for drinks and dancing with a soundtrack of chart-topping music.
Naked Bar Madrid
With a not-so-subtle name, Naked is a dedicated gay leather and fetish bar popular with older men. There's a dress code every night and it rarely mentions clothes, but there are occasional themed nights such as swimwear or sportswear. Two floors of cruising promise an unforgettable experience, with facilities such as darkroom, beds, slings, and large film screens. Entrance even includes two drinks.
