3* Staybridge Suites Vauxhall

100 Vauxhall Walk, London SE11 5EL, United Kingdom

3* Staybridge Suites Vauxhall

Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall is particularly useful if you’re staying for more than a weekend and would rather have something approaching a small apartment than another London hotel room.

Every suite has a proper kitchen, breakfast is included and there’s even a free guest laundry, which makes longer stays considerably easier. The hotel sits on a quiet street beside Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, around five minutes from Vauxhall station, so Victoria, Oxford Circus and the rest of central London are only a few Tube stops away.

For LGBTQ+ travellers, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern is practically a neighbour, while other Vauxhall venues and the Thames are easily walkable. Westminster is close enough to reach on foot when the weather behaves.

GayMapper tip: a very practical choice if you want Vauxhall nightlife nearby, more space than a standard hotel room and the freedom to make breakfast at 2pm without anyone judging you.

Hotels you might like in London

5* The Soho Hotel

5* The Soho Hotel

The Soho Hotel is about as close as you can get to staying right in London’s gay heartland without actually sleeping above a bar. It hides down a quiet mews between Dean Street and Wardour Street, with Old Compton Street only moments away. That makes nights out wonderfully uncomplicated, but it’s the hotel itself that keeps this as our favourite splurge. Kit Kemp’s colourful interiors give every room real personality, Refuel is a genuinely good restaurant and cocktail bar, and the two private screening rooms are a very Soho touch. You’ve also got theatres, restaurants, Chinatown, Oxford Street and several Tube stations within an easy walk, so very little about a weekend here requires planning. GayMapper tip: expensive, absolutely — but if you want a special London stay and gay Soho right outside, it’s difficult to think of a better combination.
4* Park Plaza Riverbank

4* Park Plaza Riverbank

Park Plaza London Riverbank is one of the handier mainstream hotels if your London plans include Vauxhall. The Royal Vauxhall Tavern and the area’s late-night LGBTQ+ scene are within walking distance, while Westminster sits directly across the Thames. It also works surprisingly well for sightseeing: buses stop outside, Vauxhall Tube is nearby and the riverside walk towards the London Eye and South Bank is much nicer than spending the same journey underground. Some rooms have excellent views across the Thames towards Parliament, and there’s an indoor pool, sauna and gym. Chino Latino is still here too, serving Pan-Asian food and cocktails with river views. GayMapper tip: a good all-rounder if you want Vauxhall nightlife closer than Soho, while keeping Westminster and central London very easy to reach.
4* Staycity London Dalston

4* Staycity London Dalston

If your idea of queer London leans more Dalston than Soho, Staycity Aparthotels London Dalston puts you right in the middle of it. Dalston Superstore is just along Kingsland High Street, The Divine is nearby and the surrounding streets have an enormous choice of independent bars, restaurants and late-night food. The apartments are particularly useful if you’re staying for more than a weekend, with proper kitchens, dining space and enough room to feel less like you’re living out of a suitcase. There’s also a gym and 24-hour reception. Dalston Kingsland station is around three minutes away, while Dalston Junction gives you another Overground option, so central London is easy to reach even though you’re staying firmly in the East End. GayMapper tip: a great choice if you want London’s more alternative LGBTQ+ scene on the doorstep and are perfectly happy swapping Piccadilly Circus for Kingsland High Street.
4* The Resident Soho

4* The Resident Soho

The Resident Soho is almost absurdly well placed for an LGBTQ+ weekend in London. It’s tucked down Carlisle Street by Soho Square, so Old Compton Street and the surrounding gay bars are only a few minutes away, yet the hotel itself feels surprisingly calm once you’re back inside. There’s no restaurant or scene-y hotel bar competing for your attention here; instead, the focus is on comfortable rooms, friendly service and little mini-kitchens with a fridge, microwave and Nespresso machine. That’s particularly handy if you’re staying for several nights or simply don’t fancy paying Soho prices every time you want a drink or snack. Tottenham Court Road is around five minutes away, giving you the Elizabeth, Central and Northern lines, while theatres, Chinatown, Oxford Street and Covent Garden are all comfortably walkable. GayMapper tip: probably the sweet spot if you want proper four-star comfort right in gay Soho without jumping all the way to five-star Soho Hotel prices.
4* Native Bankside

4* Native Bankside

Native Bankside is a good reminder that staying centrally in London doesn’t have to mean squeezing into a tiny hotel room. The apartments occupy a restored Victorian tea warehouse near the Thames, with exposed brick, arched windows and considerably more character than most serviced apartments. Each unit gives you kitchen facilities and proper living space, which is especially useful for longer stays. Borough Market, Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe are all nearby, with London Bridge, Southwark and Blackfriars stations within walking distance. Soho and Vauxhall both require a short journey, but Bankside has more than enough restaurants, bars and riverside life to make evenings closer to home worthwhile too. GayMapper tip: particularly good for longer stays or couples who want the freedom of an apartment without giving up hotel-style service and a genuinely central location.
4* The Hoxton, Shoreditch

4* The Hoxton, Shoreditch

The Hoxton, Shoreditch is a good fit if you’d rather base yourself in East London than spend the whole trip orbiting Soho. Great Eastern Street puts you amongst Shoreditch restaurants, cocktail bars, galleries and nightlife, with Brick Lane around ten minutes away and Spitalfields and Liverpool Street also within easy reach. The hotel itself is part of the neighbourhood rather than just somewhere to sleep in it. The big lobby is busy from morning to late evening with locals working, drinking and meeting friends, while the restaurant, bar and terrace make it easy to start the night without immediately heading elsewhere. Old Street station is close by, and Dalston’s queer nightlife is an easy trip north when you want it. Soho takes longer, obviously, but that’s rather the point of staying here. GayMapper tip: a strong choice if you want fashionable East London outside the door and prefer your hotel lobby lively rather than reverentially quiet.
