The hotel also has a 24-hour reception, breakfast and self-service laundry facilities. Central Station and Tivoli are reachable on foot, but the gay bars around Studiestræde are further away, so this isn’t the hotel to choose if nightlife location is your priority. Wakeup Copenhagen, Bernstorffsgade is a modern budget hotel near the waterfront, within walking distance of Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli. The rooms are minimalist and fairly compact, but they're contemporary, air-conditioned and considerably smarter than the two-star rating might suggest. Higher room categories offer more space or better views, while the café and lounge provide somewhere to grab breakfast, snacks or a drink. It's further from the Studiestræde gay bars than citizenM or SP34, so nightlife isn't the reason to choose it. The appeal is simple: a decent central location at rates that can be much kinder than Copenhagen's more stylish hotels. Rooms use natural and locally sourced materials, with a calm, contemporary feel rather than traditional grand-hotel styling. There’s also PÆRE Dining Room and PÆRE Bar, plus fitness and wellness facilities. GayMapper tip: one of the best choices if you want proper five-star luxury without giving up easy access to Copenhagen's gay scene.

Hotel SP34 sits in Copenhagen's Latin Quarter, just around the corner from Studiestræde, making it one of the strongest additions to the GayMapper hotel list. The hotel is just behind Tivoli and around five minutes from Central Station, putting you in a much handier position than the CABINN Copenhagen previously featured on GayMapper. There is a catch: the rooms really are small, with compact bathrooms and cabin-inspired layouts very much part of the concept. If you're bringing half your wardrobe for a weekend away, this probably isn't the one. If you mainly want a clean, central base and would rather spend your money elsewhere, however, it does the job.
