4* One King West Hotel

One King West Hotel & Residence, King Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada

4* One King West Hotel

Boutique, City Centre

Part historic bank, part slender modern tower, One King West Hotel & Residence is one of downtown Toronto’s more interesting places to stay. The original Dominion Bank building dates from 1914, while the tower above provides some terrific city and lake views.

Accommodation is all-suite, and many rooms have kitchenettes with microwaves, fridges and dishwashers, making this particularly comfortable for longer stays. The 17th-floor fitness centre adds panoramic views, a whirlpool and separate saunas, while Teller’s Bistro & Bar cleverly incorporates original bank teller wickets into its interior.

King subway station is steps away and there’s direct access to the PATH underground network. Toronto’s main LGBTQ+ nightlife around Church and Wellesley is north of here, so the subway is usually the easiest option for an evening out.

GayMapper tip: Look at the tower suites if views matter, or the historic suites if the old-bank atmosphere is what caught your attention.

4* Yorkville Royal Sonesta

4* Yorkville Royal Sonesta

Museums, restaurants and designer shopping are the reasons to choose this part of Toronto. The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto sits directly opposite the Royal Ontario Museum on Bloor Street, with the University of Toronto and Yorkville’s shops and galleries immediately around you. One of its nicest surprises is upstairs: an indoor heated rooftop pool with views across the city, complemented by a fitness centre and saunas. Signatures Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Proof Bar & Patio gives you somewhere more relaxed for cocktails and small plates. Rooms are generously sized and have a polished contemporary feel, with some looking towards Queen’s Park and the skyline. For the main LGBTQ+ nightlife in Church-Wellesley Village, head east along Bloor or use the subway — it’s close enough to be convenient without putting you directly among the late-night bars. GayMapper tip: Particularly good for combining culture and nightlife — the ROM really is almost outside the front door.

4* Holiday Inn Downtown

4* Holiday Inn Downtown

If you want to be close to the gay nightlife but still have a pool and spa back at the hotel, Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre is a very easy fit. It sits on Carlton Street near Yonge, with the bars and clubs of Church-Wellesley Village only a short walk east and College subway station virtually on the doorstep. The facilities are unusually strong for this price bracket. There’s a heated indoor pool, Signature Spa and a recently renovated fitness centre, while Thirty Restaurant handles meals throughout the day and Thirty Lounge is handy for a drink before going out. Rooms are contemporary and practical, with mini-fridges, coffee facilities and free Wi-Fi. You can also walk to Eaton Centre and Sankofa Square without needing public transport. GayMapper tip: This is a particularly useful all-rounder — close enough to walk home from Church Street, but with more hotel facilities than many similarly located options.

5* St. Regis Toronto

5* St. Regis Toronto

If you want Toronto at its most polished, The St. Regis Toronto delivers the full five-star experience from its Financial District address on Bay Street. The Eaton Centre, St. Lawrence Market, Scotiabank Arena and the CN Tower are all within easy reach, while the main LGBTQ+ nightlife around Church and Wellesley is a short taxi or subway ride away. The 258 rooms and suites are among the more spacious luxury options downtown, with the brand’s signature butler service adding a properly indulgent touch. Up on the 31st and 32nd floors, the St. Regis Spa includes treatment rooms, sauna and steam facilities, a heated indoor infinity-edge lap pool and whirlpool overlooking the skyline. LOUIX LOUIS handles the glamorous dining, while Astor Lounge is home to afternoon tea and the nightly champagne-sabering ritual. GayMapper tip: Come here when the hotel itself is part of the treat — especially if spa time, big rooms and old-school five-star service matter more than staying directly in the gay village.

3* Town Inn Suites

3* Town Inn Suites

Space is the real luxury at Town Inn Suites. Accommodation ranges from roomy studios to one- and two-bedroom suites of up to around 900 square feet, with separate living areas and kitchens or kitchenettes in many categories — particularly useful for longer stays, groups or anyone who doesn’t want every meal in a restaurant. Then there’s the location. The hotel is actually on Church Street at the northern end of Church-Wellesley Village, so Toronto’s main concentration of LGBTQ+ bars, clubs and community venues is just a short walk down the street. Bloor-Yonge subway station and the restaurants and shopping of Yorkville are also nearby. Current facilities include a guest lounge, breakfast options, covered parking, laundry services and 24-hour reception. GayMapper tip: A particularly practical choice if you’re staying several nights — having proper living space and a kitchen this close to the gay nightlife is a rare combination in central Toronto.

5* The Hazelton Hotel

5* The Hazelton Hotel

With just 77 rooms and suites, The Hazelton Hotel Toronto delivers five-star luxury on a much more intimate scale than most of the city’s grand hotels. The Yabu Pushelberg-designed interiors have a glamorous residential feel, while unusually spacious rooms average more than 620 square feet and include marble bathrooms; some also have walk-out or Juliet balconies. Yorkville’s restaurants, designer stores and galleries surround the hotel, with the Royal Ontario Museum a few minutes away. The LGBTQ+ nightlife of Church-Wellesley Village is further east, easily reached by subway, taxi or a longer walk. Back at the Hazelton, Spa by Valmont includes an indoor saltwater pool, steam room and fitness centre. ONE Restaurant remains a destination in its own right, with a stylish dining room, bar and leafy seasonal terrace. GayMapper tip: This works particularly well if you prefer discreet boutique-style luxury to the buzz of a huge five-star hotel.

5* Four Seasons Yorkville

5* Four Seasons Yorkville

Yorkville is Toronto at its most polished, and Four Seasons Hotel Toronto sits right in the middle of it. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the city into the contemporary rooms and suites, while boutiques, restaurants and Bloor Street are all close enough to explore on foot. The wellness facilities are a major draw. There’s a large indoor relaxation pool, hot tub and steam room on the ninth floor, an acclaimed spa, and a completely redesigned 3,500-square-foot fitness centre unveiled in 2026. Food is another strength: Café Boulud serves Daniel Boulud’s modern take on French brasserie cooking, while d|bar is a lively option for cocktails and casual plates. Church-Wellesley Village and Toronto’s main LGBTQ+ nightlife sit southeast of Yorkville and can be reached on foot or quickly by subway. GayMapper tip: Allow some time for the hotel itself — the spa, pool and restaurants make this much more than simply a luxurious place to sleep.
