OYA Kollektiv Bar

OYA Kollektiv Bar

Mariannenstraße 6, 10997 Berlin, Germany

OYA is a queer-feminist collective bar where community comes before conventional nightlife polish. The programme ranges from open decks, poetry and concerts to games nights, solidarity events and exhibitions, with a particular focus on LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC voices. There’s also a small outdoor area for quieter summer evenings.

The Mariannenstraße location puts OYA in Kreuzberg, not far from the queer scene around Kottbusser Tor. Möbel Olfe and Südblock are both within easy reach, making it straightforward to combine them in one night. The crowd is especially diverse across queer women, trans and non-binary people, BIPOC communities and allies, giving OYA a noticeably different atmosphere from Berlin’s predominantly male gay bars.

Popular Bars in Berlin

Capture Bar

Capture Bar

Popular bar in Friedrichshain. According to the owner the glamourest Gay Bar in Berlin. Close by the many bars and restaurants on Simon Dach Strasse, with a great soundtrack for your evening. Especially busy on weekend evenings.
GEM Bar

GEM Bar

GEM Bar is a small, polished gay cocktail bar where conversation takes priority over booming music. Dark wood, marble and intimate seating give it a grown-up feel, while the drinks list goes well beyond basic beer and long drinks. Karaoke occasionally turns the volume up, but most evenings are deliberately relaxed. Its Fuggerstraße location puts GEM right inside Schöneberg’s main gay neighbourhood. Prinzknecht is almost next door, Woof is just along the street and Blond, Dreizehn and several other gay bars are only minutes away. The crowd is mixed but tends towards middle-aged and older gay men, with plenty of regulars alongside visitors looking for somewhere quieter to start the evening.
BarbieBar

BarbieBar

A cosy cafe bar in the Kreuzberg area, offering a great range of homemade cakes and tarts. A cosy atmosphere continues to the evening where you can get some great cocktails. Quite a neighbourhood feel to this bar.
Tipsy Bear

Tipsy Bear

Tipsy Bear in Prenzlauer Berg is a fun, lively queer bar with a welcoming, inclusive vibe. Known for weekly drag shows, karaoke nights, and themed events, it’s a great spot to let loose and have fun. The bar serves a good mix of cocktails and beers, with happy hours in the early evening and late night. With its friendly atmosphere and energetic crowd, Tipsy Bear is perfect for chilling with friends, catching a show, or just enjoying a playful night out in Berlin’s queer scene.
Neues Ufer

Neues Ufer

There’s some serious queer history behind Neues Ufer. Opened as Anderes Ufer in 1977, it became one of Berlin’s pioneering openly gay and lesbian cafés, with David Bowie a regular when he lived nearby. Today it remains a relaxed café-bar, with drinks, outdoor seating and plenty of Bowie memorabilia adding to the character. It sits further south in Schöneberg than the main gay nightlife around Motzstraße and Fuggerstraße, but that gives it more of a neighbourhood feel. The crowd mixes long-time LGBTQ+ regulars, locals, visitors and Bowie fans, making it particularly good for conversation and an earlier drink rather than a big night out.
Pinocchio

Pinocchio

A long established bar on one of the main gay streets in Berlin, Pinocchio attracts a mainly older crowd and has a number of regular locals who like a drink there. Can also be frequented by hustlers, if that is something you're looking for.
