WashWorx

WashWorx

131 Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 6SE, United Kingdom

WashWorx brings a fresh look to one of Birmingham Gay Village’s best-known addresses, taking over the former Sidewalk space on Hurst Street. Earlier in the day it works as a stylish social bar for cocktails, sharing plates and relaxed catch-ups, with the energy building later through DJs, drag-led entertainment and themed nights.

You’re right in the middle of the Gay Village here, with Missing Bar, Equator, The Village Inn and Nightingale all only a short walk away. Fridays are particularly LGBTQ+ focused with Untidy Fridays, combining drag, DJs and pop favourites. Expect a broad queer crowd, groups of friends and plenty of people starting their night before moving on to the clubs.

Popular Bars in Birmingham

The Village Inn

The Village Inn

The Village Inn is one of the most well-established and popular bars in Birmingham's Gay Quarter. It offers entertainment every night of the week, in the form of appearances from some of the best drag and cabaret acts in the area. Queens host weekly bingo and karaoke, and the biggest names appear on a Saturday nights when the bar is open well into Sunday morning. Regulars always have their favourite night of the week to visit The Village Inn!
Glamorous Birmingham

Glamorous Birmingham

Glamorous, situated in the heart of Birmingham's Gay Village, is a booming and energetic venue catering to any age. The venue is open until the early hours to keep the party going for those that want to dance the night away, and with free entry and happy hour until 2am, you'll definitely want to. It's a casual place with a loud and proud atmosphere.
Missing Bar

Missing Bar

Missing Bar is Birmingham's party bar in the heart of the gay village. It's the first gay bar that you come to as you walk down Hurst Street and it's well worth a visit if you're looking for a good time. The venue, which used to be exclusively a cabaret bar, has now been taken over my new management who have completely redone the interior to create a modern and exciting party bar that offers a little bit of everything.

The Fox

The Fox

The Fox is a premier lesbian bar and describes itself as "a little gay bar with a big gay heart". It's proud to welcome everyone and the staff are always friendly. Its quaint beer garden often hosts live music, and the space only adds to the relaxed and friendly vibe across the venue. Karaoke, pool, and a great selection of drinks make for a great night and lots of new friends.
The Fountain Inn

The Fountain Inn

The Fountain Inn is a traditional gay bar. It used to be a men only venue but now welcomes everyone, and is conveniently located near many other gay venues and restaurants. It's the perfect place to spend the night, as the hotel above the bar is one of the few places to stay within the gay quarter. You can party till late and go straight to your accommodation. Both will make you feel at home away from home.

Tours & Experiences in Birmingham

Birmingham has a lot more character than its old industrial image suggests. Explore the Jewellery Quarter, visit the Birmingham Back to Backs or cruise its canals, then head back into the centre for food, drinks and a night out around the city’s lively LGBTQ quarter.
