Rose Room

Rose Room

3911 Cedar Springs Road, Floor 2, Dallas, TX 75219

Dallas takes its drag seriously, and nowhere celebrates the art quite like the legendary Rose Room. Located upstairs at Station 4, this spectacular showroom has been entertaining LGBTQ+ audiences since 1986 and helped launch the careers of internationally recognised performers including Alyssa Edwards, Kennedy Davenport and Asia O'Hara.

The atmosphere combines theatrical glamour with an enthusiastic, friendly crowd that knows how to appreciate a fabulous performance. Expect elaborate costumes, polished choreography, sharp comedy and plenty of audience interaction, with talented resident queens taking to the stage throughout the week. Rising Star Thursdays showcase emerging performers, while weekend productions attract some of the biggest crowds. Seating is first come, first served, so arriving early is advisable. Bring cash to tip the queens and prepare for a genuinely memorable Dallas night out.

Popular Bars in Dallas

Roy G's

Roy G's

Sometimes the perfect gay night out starts with a really good meal, and Roy G's is one of the best places on Cedar Springs to combine food, drinks and a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere. Named after the colours of the rainbow, this LGBTQ+-owned bar and grill has become a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The menu goes well beyond typical bar snacks, with hearty American comfort food, creative burgers and generous brunch dishes alongside colourful cocktails. Its bright, cheerful interior and inviting outdoor patio make it particularly appealing during the day, while weekend evenings offer a lively but relaxed alternative to the nearby nightclubs. Whether you're meeting friends for brunch, grabbing dinner before dancing or simply enjoying a cocktail, Roy G's is an easy place to settle in.
Tin Room

Tin Room

For an evening with plenty of eye candy and a distinctly cheeky atmosphere, Tin Room is one of Dallas's best-known gay go-go bars. Hidden away on Hudnall Street, a little beyond the main Cedar Springs strip, this lively venue attracts a predominantly male crowd who come for the dancers, drinks and informal party atmosphere. The entertainment is the real attraction, with handsome male performers taking to the poles and cages throughout the week. The industrial-style interior, intimate layout and slightly underground feel create an experience quite different from Dallas's bigger dance clubs. It's a fun choice for groups of friends, a little flirting or an evening exploring the city's more adventurous gay nightlife. Entry is available to visitors aged 18 and over, although the bar operates under the usual Texas alcohol restrictions.
JR's Bar & Grill

JR's Bar & Grill

There's always something happening at JR's, one of the liveliest and longest-established gay bars on Dallas's Cedar Springs strip. Open since 1980, this sprawling neighbourhood institution combines daytime food and drinks with a party atmosphere that gets increasingly energetic as evening approaches. The multi-level layout offers plenty of places to explore, from sociable bars and video screens to a dance floor and outdoor seating. The upstairs balcony is particularly popular, providing excellent views of the crowds along Cedar Springs and the famous rainbow crossing below. Regular DJs, drag entertainment and themed events keep things interesting, while the kitchen serves satisfying American bar favourites. Whether you're meeting friends for lunch or starting a big night out, JR's is an essential stop in the gaybourhood.
Havana

Havana

If you love Latin music, a lively dance floor and cocktails with a tropical twist, Havana brings a welcome change of pace to Dallas's Cedar Springs nightlife scene. This energetic LGBTQ+ venue has a particularly strong connection to the city's Latino community, attracting a colourful crowd who come to dance, socialise and enjoy the entertainment. The soundtrack ranges from reggaeton, salsa and merengue to hip-hop and familiar pop favourites, with DJs keeping the atmosphere lively into the early hours. Drag performances and themed nights add plenty of sparkle, while the covered patio offers somewhere to relax between dances. Havana is particularly appealing for anyone who prefers Latin rhythms to the usual gay club soundtrack, and its central location makes it easy to combine with other Cedar Springs bars.
Alexandre's

Alexandre's

If your ideal gay night out involves excellent cocktails, live music and a friendly atmosphere rather than a packed dance floor, Alexandre's is one of Dallas's standout choices. This intimate Cedar Springs favourite has built a loyal following for its talented performers, welcoming bartenders and a slightly more sophisticated take on neighbourhood nightlife. Music is a big part of the attraction, with regular singers, musicians and themed entertainment creating a wonderfully sociable atmosphere. The cocktail programme is another highlight, offering carefully made classics alongside creative house favourites. Alexandre's also has a kitchen serving comfort food, making it a particularly good choice for dinner and drinks before exploring the wider gaybourhood. It's an easy place to spend an entire evening, especially if you appreciate a good conversation between performances.
Kaliente

Kaliente

For a proper Latin gay party, Kaliente is one of Dallas's most energetic nightlife destinations. Located on Maple Avenue, away from the main Cedar Springs strip, this lively LGBTQ+ nightclub attracts a predominantly Latino crowd with an infectious combination of music, dancing and glamorous entertainment. Expect reggaeton, Latin pop, salsa and familiar dance-floor favourites, with DJs keeping the atmosphere lively throughout the night. Drag performances are another major attraction, bringing elaborate costumes, theatrical flair and plenty of audience participation to the party. The atmosphere is youthful, colourful and unapologetically energetic, making Kaliente a particularly good choice if you're looking for something different from the mainstream gay clubs. Arrive ready to dance and enjoy a distinctly Dallas-Latino flavour of LGBTQ+ nightlife.
