Maspalomas Dunes

The Maspalomas Dunes are sand dunes located on the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria. There is no particular focal point for cruising, but you'll find many people sunbathing and waiting in the bushy areas. Get there by entering the dunes using the path next to the Riu Palace in Playa del Ingles, then just follow the trail of guys along to the gay beach. Cruising anytime between sunrise and sunset - be careful not to get stuck there after dark. The dunes are a 404-hectare (1,000-acre) area of the municipality of San Bartolome de Tirajana and they have been protected as a nature reserve since 1987. They were formed by sand from the bottom of the ocean, during the last ice age, when the wind blew the sand towards the coast of the island. With all this history in mind, please help to protect the dunes for future generations of the LGBTQ+ community by treating the area with respect, only entering permitted areas and taking all litter away with you
