Known for its welcoming atmosphere and playful spirit, Scheune has become a classic spot to meet, mingle, and enjoy Berlin’s uninhibited nightlife.

Der Neue Oldtimer is a great bar for people over 50. Laid back and so friendly. You can choose the music with your drinks order, just look for the music list book on the bar or look around at the record covers and note the numbers.

Melitta Sundström is one of those old-school Berlin queer institutions that works just as well for coffee and cake as it does for drinks later in the evening. The characterful café-bar has indoor and outdoor seating, a relaxed neighbourhood atmosphere and occasional cultural events, attracting a broad mix rather than one narrowly defined gay crowd. You’re right on Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg, with Rauschgold directly across the road and BarbieBar further along the same street, so it’s an easy addition to a queer bar crawl through this part of the city. Expect gay and lesbian regulars, local friends and a generally mixed, unpretentious crowd, especially earlier in the evening.

Silver Future can be found in the lively queer scene of Berlin Neukölln. This is the place to be provocative and unconventional. A sign hanging over the bar tells patrons to leave their "heteronormativity" at the door or else they can leave themselves. The tables, seating and countless pictures on the walls are as varied as the guests. The bar is particularly popular with lesbian women, but gay newcomers to Berlin from all over the world appreciate the family atmosphere. Known for well prices drinks and friendly service.
