Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is the classic Hamburg grand-hotel experience, sitting directly on the Binnenalster and within easy reach of Jungfernstieg, luxury shopping and the elegant Neustadt. The atmosphere is unapologetically old-school five-star, with polished service and enough restaurants and bars that you could quite easily forget to leave the building. The rooftop spa is particularly pleasant, while the lakefront location gives you one of the nicest morning walks in central Hamburg. St Georg’s LGBTQ+ scene is around a 15-minute walk away, and St Pauli is easily reached by U-Bahn or taxi, so nightlife is accessible without shaping the whole stay. St Georg is still easy to reach — you can walk towards Lange Reihe for the gay bars or simply use the excellent transport around Hauptbahnhof and Jungfernstieg.
